He is a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia. Paul has had a variety of consulting engineering experience in concrete, steel and timber structures. His early experience was with a specialised timber engineering consultant. As a result, Paul has gained valuable experience in the design of all types of timber structures including warehouses, churches and road and railway bridges. Paul has also worked with Civil & Civic as a design engineer and with Ove Arup & Partners. Overseas experience includes the part design of Asian Games Aquatic Centre in Bangkok and numerous timber structures in New Zealand. Consulting experience with SCP since 1996 has included the design & documentation of numerous large scale projects (refer previous) as well as numerous industrial, commercial and domestic type structures. His area of expertise includes structural steel buildings, reinforced and post-tensioned concrete and timber structures. Paul is also experienced in the design of wind sensitive structures and recent projects include the design of a 50m chimney in Gladstone Queensland which is in a cyclonic region. Other specialist fields include general structural dynamics including Earthquake analysis and Finite Element Modelling. |
