PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Parramatta Transport Interchange is a facility
for ferry and bus commuters, replacing the existing waiting area and canopy with a larger facility
adjacent to the river foreshore.

features:
Canopy structure to cater for 200
passengers waiting and 200 passengers alighting from the ferry.
Structure to withstand 1 in 100 year floods which results in water levels
immersing 65% of the structure.
The architecture of the wharf is based on a maritime theme which is
reflected in the use of the canopy as a tensile structure.

Special Features:

span over submarine electrical corridor.
Marine environment required careful consideration of concrete durability and
construction methods over water.
SCP Involvement:
SCP design used large amount of precast
elements to reduce formwork costs over water and construction time.

PROJECT VALUE: $15 MILLION (Concourse building)
$5.5 MILLION (Transport interchange)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: New elevated
railway concourse over main southern railway line incorporating passenger
links to bus and rail platforms. The concourse structure was designed to
accommodate the transport interchange and main southern railway line design
requirements. While achieving the requirements of the authorities, SCP also
incorporated the building form and finishes nominated by the architects The transport
interchange included transport requirements for commuters using buses, taxis
and private cars.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Refurbishment of two existing Heritage Buildings to
provide facilities for Bus/Rail Commuters.

load bearing walls to provide large open spaces.
Replacing these walls with moment resisting structural steel frames to
maintain resistance to earthquake loads.
Strengthening external cantilever walls by detailing new floor to wall
connections.

design of footing system to bridge existing sewer line passing through the
