fox studios – Suttor stand

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Suttor Stand was originally a grandstand constructed in 1910 for viewing the main arena of the RAS Showground at Moore Park. It was originally a brick structure with tiered timber framing to the stand area and a light curved steel frame roof not designed for wind uplift.
special features:
Roof trusses tied down with light cables. Brickwork stabilized to allow retention of existing brick walls. Building enclosed with glass front wall.
scp involvement:
Structural design and documentation for work. Concept and design of demolition sequence while maintaining stability of existing walls to allow grandstand timber framing to be removed.

UNCLE TOBYS, SMITHFIELD

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Uncle Tobys Company in Smithfield is a food processing and administration facility manufacturing soup mix, cake mix as well as the baking of cakes.
scp involvement:
Design and Documentation.
Civil and Structural Engineers responsible for original facility for Allied Mills in 1981 and expansion in 1991 for White Wings.
Refurbishment work including office expansion, roof strengthening, Pasta Regrind Relocation, Mixer Foundation, Sprinkler Installation, Preweigh and Mixing Platform Bracing, Bunker Platform Modifications and Silo Roof Check.
